Dr. Dickson obtained her Bachelor of Science with Honours in biology and psychology at Acadia University (2012). She subsequently completed medical school at Queen’s University (2016) and family medicine residency at Dalhousie University (2018). This was followed by the Sport and Exercise Medicine fellowship at Western University’s Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic (2019).
After completion of her training, Dr Dickson returned to Nova Scotia as a sport medicine consultant. Her practice interests included pediatric sport injuries and ultrasound-guided injections. She provided medical coverage for multiple Atlantic universities, the Halifax Thunderbirds (NLL) and the Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL). She travelled with Canada’s National Para Hockey Team for international competitions. She also provided primary care for students at Dalhousie University, urgent care in rural communities, and was a regular surgical assist. She was an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University, providing sport medicine teaching to family medicine residents in Nova Scotia.
Dr. Dickson returned to Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in 2022. She provides comprehensive medical care to Western’s Women’s Hockey team. She also continues her work in primary care at Fanshawe College. She is an Adjunct Professor at Western University with an interest in medical education. While her athletic background is competitive dance, she currently stays active through hiking, running, and cycling with her family.
