Our acute injury clinic offers integrated care for athletes of any age or fitness level who have sustained a musculoskeletal injury related to sports or physical activity. These types of injuries include ankle sprains, muscle tears, suspected fractures and knee injuries.

We do not treat acute sport concussions at this clinic. If you have sustained a suspected concussion within the last 72 hours during a sport or activity, see our Sport Concussion page for more information or call 519-661-3011 and select option #2 to book an assessment.

An acute or minor injury is a sport- or activity-related musculoskeletal (bone, joint or soft tissue) injury that has occurred within the last 48–72 hours.

You may book your own appointment by calling 519-661-3011 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Monday to Thursday, and between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Referrals are not required for sport related injuries.

• Shorts for leg assessments.
• Sleeveless t-shirt or tank top for shoulder and arm assessments.

• A valid OHIP card.
• Copies of lab tests, X-rays or other investigations pertinent to your problem, if available.

Yes

For problems not related to bone, joints and soft tissue, we recommend calling or visiting your family doctor first. If your family doctor is not available, you may wish to go to Urgent Care at St. Joseph’s Health Care.

Anyone with a life-threatening condition should dial 911 or proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room.
