Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic stands as a leader in the field of sport medicine, continually advancing care through its unwavering commitment to research.

Research is the cornerstone of improved health. It drives innovation, enhances patient outcomes, and shapes the future of care, benefiting not only athletes but also entire communities. At Fowler Kennedy, our research program plays a crucial role in ensuring that our treatments and techniques are evidence-based and continuously evolving.

This World Health Day, we celebrate the transformative power of collaboration in health and science. Progress is achieved not in isolation but through the collective efforts of clinicians, researchers, and patients united by a shared goal: to enhance lives.

Our team actively participates in a diverse range of research studies focused on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance. These studies not only advance sport medicine but also provide opportunities for individuals in our community to contribute to a greater cause.

By participating in research, patients and volunteers become integral to the future of healthcare. Each study brings us closer to more effective treatments, faster recovery times, and improved overall health outcomes.

At our sports medicine clinic, research is the driving force behind improving patient outcomes and advancing the science of recovery. Our orthopaedic research delves into devices and interventions designed to restore function and enhance recovery for individuals recovering from injuries. Specific projects include ACL research in young athletes, rotator cuff studies, shoulder stabilization procedures, concussion evaluation protocols, and investigations into femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). Each research area aims to provide actionable insights that directly translate to clinical care, ultimately improving the safety, performance, and long-term health of active populations.

Our work embodies this year’s World Health Organization campaign theme, “Together for Health. Together with Science.”  By bringing together clinicians, researchers, and patients, we cultivate a collaborative environment where scientific discoveries are shared and implemented to benefit communities worldwide.  Our studies contribute to healthier, more resilient populations, from preventing sports injuries to optimizing rehabilitation strategies.

This integrated approach demonstrates that advancements in sports medicine research extend beyond individual patient care.  By conducting our research at Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic we are improving health outcomes through evidence-based science, teamwork and shared knowledge with aligns with the World Health Organization’s vision.
