Doug graduated from Queen’s University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. In 2011, he became a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists after completing the Master of Clinical Science program in the field of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Western University.
Doug has worked with Rowing Canada starting in 2010 with the Senior, Junior and Paralympic teams in varying capacities. In 2015 he travelled to Rio de Janeiro with the Canadian World Junior Team. In 2016 he was the lead therapist for the Paralympic team as they prepared for the 2016 Paralympics. This culminated in another trip to Rio de Janeiro where the team took home a bronze medal. Doug has also been the Chief Therapist for the 2010 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games. He has previously volunteered with the Windsor Spitfires, Windsor Rogues Rugby and Windsor Legion Track & Field.
Outside his clinical and field work, Doug has been an instructor in the Master of Clinical Science program at Western University. He has given numerous presentations at various national and international conferences. He continues to stay active in sport and is enjoying being a trainer/coach for his kids hockey and soccer teams.
