What is your role in supporting the sport physiotherapy fellows throughout their fellowship, and what do you enjoy most about it?
As the Fellowship Co-coordinator and Lead Therapist (Western University), I support the fellows by providing direct mentorship in the clinic and on the sideline. We provide a supportive open learning environment as they navigate their career in sport and exercise medicine. I enjoy being a part of the journey and supporting their growth and development not only during the fellowship but as an alumni of the program. It’s impressive to see how far they come in just 10 months.
How would you describe the learning environment and culture within the fellowship?
We cultivate a collaborative learning environment where staff are approachable and engaged to ensure the fellows have the support they need to learn and succeed. Often dynamic and fast paced, the environment provides hands-on experience alongside structured sessions.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about applying for the fellowship?
You truly get out of this fellowship what you put into it. It’s a transformative experience that will shape your career, setting a strong foundation for your future and you become a part of of a fantastic alumni community.
