Careers at Fowler KennedyPrimary Care Sport Medicine Physician The Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic is a multidisciplinary Sport Medicine Clinic located on the Campus of the University of Western Ontario and associated with London Health Sciences Centre. We are recognized as one of the premier Sport Medicine Facilities in North America. We are an established Academic centre with academic appointments in various University of Western Ontario Faculties including Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Schools of Kinesiology and / or Physiotherapy and Biomechanics through the Faculty of Engineering. We have a dynamic faculty of orthopaedic surgeons, primary care sport medicine physicians, physiotherapists, pedorthists, bracing experts and nursing. There is an active research component to our clinic with opportunities to become involved in clinical research at various levels. We service a large catchment area throughout Southwestern Ontario, as well as serving as the sport medicine physicians for both the University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College. With patient volumes increasing and with our expanded facilities (now operating out of 3 locations in London) we are looking for interested Ontario licensed Physicians to consider our Primary Care Sport Medicine team. Interested candidates would hold the diploma in Sport Medicine through CASM (or equivalent experience) or have an interest in pursuing and completing the diploma in Sport Medicine designation. We are willing to assist with the required supports to achieve this goal. Employment dynamics: The focus of employment is Clinical patient care in an office setting, with clinical teaching of Fellows and Family Practice Residents. There are opportunities to be involved with the University of Western Ontario Varsity Teams as well as assisting and /or coordinating special event coverage. We are a leader in the community at providing the Medical coverage for Premier Sporting events that have been attracted to London and area. Past events include World Transplant Games, Canadian Figure Skating Championship, World Lacrosse Championships, World U17 Hockey Championship, Canadian Women’s Open. There are both academic and research opportunities. Applicants must be licensed to practice in Ontario and have successfully passed the CFPC examinations. He/she may hold the Diploma in sport Medicine through CASM, or be working toward the Diploma in Sport Medicine He/she should also have a valid OHIP billing number (or the ability to acquire a billing number) and must have appropriate CMPA coverage.
