Pedorthic Services
Pedorthic Services is a company of Canadian Certified Pedorthists, C Ped (C)’s, that provides pedorthic treatment throughout Southern Ontario. We have been providing London and surrounding communities with pedorthic foot care at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic since 1985. All custom-made foot orthoses and footwear modifications are fabricated at our own fabrication centre in Waterloo. Most modifications or adjustments are performed on site in our London clinics.
What is a Pedorthist?
A Canadian Certified Pedorthist is “an individual who is trained in the manufacturing and fitting of foot appliances and the fitting and modification of footwear for the purpose of alleviating painful or debilitating conditions of the lower limb…” (excerpted from the Pedorthic Association of Canada’s C Ped definition)
Education/Certification
To become a Certified Pedorthist (Canada), or C Ped (C), one must pass a written and practical examination offered by the College of Pedorthics of Canada. A candidate for the examination will have three years internship in the field of pedorthics, or have completed a one year Diploma in Pedorthics offered through the University of Western Ontario.
